Role Overview We are seeking a passionate and innovative Design and Technology (DT) Teacher to join our dynamic and inclusive school community. The successful candidate will inspire students to develop creative problem-solving skills and technical expertise, contributing to their holistic development and our school's ethos of excellence and respect.
Key Responsibilities - Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality DT lessons across a range of specialisms (e.g., Product Design, Resistant Materials, Textiles, or Graphics) that cater to diverse abilities and learning needs.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork.
- Promote outstanding behaviour for learning and maintain high standards of student engagement.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support improvement and achievement.
- Inspire students to explore their potential in design, engineering, and technology, connecting curriculum content to real-world applications.
- Uphold and contribute to the school's values of respect, tolerance, and inclusivity.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and carers to support student learning and wellbeing.
- Participate in wider school initiatives, including promoting British values and community engagement.
Qualifications and Skills - A recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent).
- A strong academic background in Design and Technology or a related discipline.
- Proven ability to deliver engaging and creative lessons across DT specialisms.
- Commitment to fostering innovation, technical skills, and problem-solving abilities in students.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
- Dedication to maintaining high expectations for behaviour and academic achievement.
